Birkat Hachammah - April 8th, 2009 - 14th of Nisan, 5769
The Little Minyan at met at Glacier Ridge Metro Park for an unusual and very rare opportunity. Ancient Jewish tradition (Babylonian Talmud) teaches that every 28 years we gather to say this blessing when the sun is once again in the same position it is believed to have been on the fourth day of creation - when God created the sun, moon, and stars. Glacier Ridge Metro Park was chosen for this event because it gave us a good view of the horizon and we "sang up the sun," shared a brief service created for this special occasion, and enjoyed a potluck breakfast before heading into the day that
ends with the beginning of Pesach. We gathered at 6:45 AM (yes, that's early MORNING) to sing up the sun. As it appeared on the horizon (around 7:05), we will commenced our blessings.There are 8 images in this gallery

Purim 2007
MARCH 4, 2007
Children and adults enjoy the Purim carnival with exotic drinks at the Shushan Shack, a Hamantaschen bakeoff, readings by Madame Fortune and Miss Tovah, a special visit from Simcha the Camel, Purim songs, costumes and face painting at the Shushan Salon, and a very entertaining Purim play based on the movie 'Casablanca'.

Chanukah 2006

Little Minyanites lighting the Chanukah lights after the childrens activities, an original play written, directed, and performed by our children and adults, and a special guest appearance by Simchat the Camel, who flew in from Israel to share the Chanukah story.
